Let government procurement serve as a powerful engine for achieving the "dual carbon" goal

China's earliest government green procurement dates back to 2004. In that year, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission issued the Implementation Opinions on Government Procurement of Energy-saving Products. Later, the implementation mechanism of government procurement policies for energy-saving and environmental protection products was gradually optimized and improved. Especially after the "dual carbon" strategic goal was proposed, the Ministry of Finance conscientiously implemented the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee, actively improved the government's green procurement policies, selected six pilot cities including Nanjing, Hangzhou and Shaoxing, explored the batch centralized procurement of green building materials and the green transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, and vigorously promoted the green development of the construction field; Build a government green procurement demand standard system, formulate government procurement demand standards for express packaging, green buildings and green building materials, and accelerate the formulation of green procurement demand standards in the fields of office consumables and government data centers; Support green procurement of key products such as new energy vehicles.
